Have you ever wanted to use the internet on different devices but only had one modem? Well, with your Smartphone, you are able to share internet to different devices; other smartphones, tablets and laptops, provided they are Wi-Fi enabled!
To get Wi-Fi, a hotspot is required and, fortunately, all smartphones have portable hotspots.
How to Enable Hotspot on Android phones
- Go to settings
- On “Wireless & Networks” select “More”
- Select “Tethering & Portable Hotspot”
You have to set up your Wi-Fi hotspot to your personalize the settings or you can use the default option.
- To customize, select “Set up Wi-Fi hotspot”
On the Network SSID you can input any name o identify your Wi-Fi
On Security you choose the type of security protocol. The preferred is WPA2 PSK but if you prefer it to be open (not password protected), then select ‘None’
- Save the changes.
- Check the box on “Portable Wi-Fi hotspot” to enable the sharing and you are good to go.
